....and a good ol' Bobwhite too. But now I'm just starting to Bobwhite, and I know what to do!
Welcome to my Wood Badge Blog! My name is Brian Colton, and this blog will document my experiences and progress on my Wood Badge Ticket.
I am a Scouter from Sloatsburg, NY and am the Webelos 1 Den Leader at Pack 2146 in Tuxedo, NY.
I am on the Bobwhite Patrol from Wood Badge N7-374-12 - we completed our course recently, with 3 days at Camp Nooteeming in August and 3 days at Camp Bullowa in Stony Point NY. We had a great time - especially at Bullowa. Our patrol had met 3 times during the 5 week break so we were pretty prepared for what was to come.
I wish I had taken more photos at wood badge weekend(s) - this was one of "Bobwhite city" - That's Kathy setting up stuff at our table under the dining tent with Jose and Eric in the background setting up their tents next to mine. We finished up writing our tickets at that table, gave our group presentation there (Fundraising / Issues Funding a Scout Unit).... and now....
The ticket journey begins....
Last night (October 9) I was attending the Rockland District Cub Scout Round Table - and at about 7:30p - my approved ticket came in. I happened to be with two of my fellow Bobwhites - Eric and Warren, who were at the Boy Scout Roundtable, as well as Mike D, one of the Foxes, and we were all pretty excited that the tickets came in earlier than we expected and we could start working on them. I will be posting detailed progress on each ticket step - probably too much detail!
My ticket counselor is Joe Mahoney. Joe was also my troop guide. I am extremely happy to have Joe guide me on this adventure! Joe instantly became someone I trusted immensely and looked up to. He lives a scouting life that I really aspire to!
